What this calculator answers
The word millionaire can hide several different questions. This calculator answers one narrow question: what Bitcoin position could correspond to a selected nominal dollar amount at a chosen horizon? It does not add your home, cash, debt, or retirement accounts, and it does not decide whether the milestone will support retirement spending.
How the calculation works
The current planning price is compounded to the horizon using the selected effective annual change. Dividing the dollar milestone by that modeled future price gives the BTC holding required at the horizon. Current coins and end-of-month purchases are projected separately to calculate a funding gap. The required monthly contribution is solved using the same purchase schedule rather than assuming every future contribution buys at today’s price.
Required BTC at horizon = nominal dollar milestone ÷ modeled future price per BTC.
Worked example
For a $1 million milestone and an assumed future BTC price of $200,000, the required holding is 5 BTC. If the future price is instead $50,000, it takes 20 BTC. With 1 BTC already held, a constant $100,000 price, and a ten-year horizon, the remaining $900,000 requires $7,500 per month at 0% growth. This example is a sensitivity calculation, not a price expectation.
How to interpret the result
Treat the required BTC and required monthly dollars as two views of the same conditional plan. If the existing coins already exceed the future milestone under the selected price assumption, the additional required contribution is zero. A zero-year horizon with a gap cannot be funded by future monthly payments. Compare a lower or negative price path before interpreting an aggressive example as a workable savings budget.
Assumptions and limitations
A nominal million dollars in a distant year does not necessarily buy what a million dollars buys today. To target inflation-adjusted household net worth across asset types, use the Wealth Goal Calculator. For income-based planning, use Retirement or FIRE. This milestone tool excludes fees, taxes, cash reserves, liabilities, rebalancing, and any income generated by selling BTC.
Privacy and practical next steps
The calculator does not connect to a wallet or change the Bitcoin Goal Tracker. Financial inputs remain in page memory except the shared live/manual price preference, most recent custom price, and last validated quote, which use isolated localStorage keys. Copying results is optional and includes financial inputs. Only a request for a normalized BTC/USD quote is sent to Stack2One's internal price endpoint; calculator financial inputs are not sent or included in custom analytics events.
Once you have a budget you want to follow, enter it yourself in the tracker. Keep the model separate from your actual purchase records, and revisit assumptions when your circumstances change. Read the related Bitcoin planning guide for context.
Useful questions
Does “millionaire” include my house here?
No. This calculator isolates a Bitcoin dollar milestone. The Wealth Goal Calculator is the tool for assets minus liabilities across your whole balance sheet.
